What happened to Mowgli? Well, he somehow found himself on a horse-drawn cart during the chaos. So, he attacked the camp and killed many of the people there including Mowgli’s father. You see, some of the British soldiers hunted more animals than they needed from the jungle which infuriated Shere Khan. I find it odd for Mowgli to be so old before he becomes a jungle cub, at least so old in comparison to other adaptations of The Jungle Book!Įverything goes well until a tiger named Shere Khan attacks the British camp one night. His mother passed away when he was younger and only has a father. Of these Indians is a young kid of about 5 years old named Mowgli. Thankfully, he appears to have a sense of justice and does his best in protecting the Indians as well as the British. So, Colonel Brydon not only has authority over his soldiers, but also over the Indians with him.

The movie takes place during the late 1800s when the British were ruling India. I find it enjoyably unusual to hear Sam Neill NOT put on an American accent! The soldiers are led by Colonel Brydon, played by Sam Neill, who also provides narration for the film. This is already more people than I’ve ever seen in any previous adaptation of The Jungle Book! We see a bunch of British soldiers traveling through India with some of the natives. If you’re not into classic Bollywood films, then please ignore this.
How did he get involved with this film? Well, he’s the father-in-law of the film’s producer, Raju Patel. Enjoy!Īfter the opening credits play, If you’re a fan of classic Bollywood films, then this is an interesting piece of trivia to note as Rajendra Kumar was a big Indian film star in the 1960s.
